Ahh, Vash. The main character of the successful new show Trigun, he cuts a swath of destruction in his wake, whether he wants to or not. And boy, does he do it in style! Take a look:

Glasses:
His glasses are small and round, thinning his face and making it look even more pointy than it already is. By giving his character profile the Superman ability of "glasses on/glasses off", it allows the artists to make Vash look instantly more or less serious. Note the lighning pattern on the side of the glasses - they help bring the character into the Western-technological world of Trigun.

Hair:
Vash's hair is blond, setting him apart from the majority of anime characters. Also, the raised style leaves a lot of space for his eyebrows, giving his face a greater range of emotion.

Earring:
Ahh, a bishounen trademark. The rebel! The 'man who is bad for you'! Lock your daughters away - this highlights Vash's difference between him and the normal men that populate Trigun.

Jacket, Gloves, Boots:
Vash covers nearly his entire body, protecting him against the harsh rigors of the world he lives in. Also, this leaves any identifying marks up to the viewers imagination - what is he hiding? Is it a tattoo? An old scar? A mech suit? Watch and find out!
