Day 1 was really hectic, with 22 people showing up to attempt to place in the League’s first ‘Top 8 A Rank’ division. It looks like the cut is going to be three games, and with most people having two completed, the players are starting to group up.
Favorited-to-win EvilTaxi is in the lead with a monster +31 after two games, Hammergirl’s fastest-learning player Squintz at a +26.5 after three games, assuring his placement, and Nine Gates president Alex at +25.5 after three games.
Looking at the Yaku for the wins on the sheet reports, it looks like the no-call Reach players are dominating the tournament, with the Top 8 having a Reach over 50% of the time. If you factor in the fast-out defensive hands, that’s a Reach on almost every offensive hand.
Personally, I’m fourth place at +18 after two first place-squeakers, with my signature pinfu..

after pinfu..

(that first one is a no-wasted-draws reach ippatsu pin dora first hand of the tourney, nice)
and I turned this…

into one big disguised full-flush (ACTION SHOT on accident)

but my third matchup is against some heavy hitters, so we’ll see how much of that I can hold on to.
And now, for THE DATAS. All you BvS players look for your fellow ninja, and remember that each player starts at -5 per game and fights their way up, so there is nothing wrong with a negative score.

Two and a half hours until Day 2 – I’m honestly hoping for a good third game so I can cement myself in A, as I’m missing the first week of the League, and I’ll need the buffer. If you are on here, or know someon on here, comment – your words make me feel loved.

Movin on up!
If you are on here, as in reading this blog? Context clues are scary and confusing!
I know that I can’t play Mahjong without something telling me that I can do things with my tiles. Maybe this blog will change that!
What the heck, I actually got +11 for the tourney. I didn’t even mean to. AWESOME
