The Short Version: Show up at Hammergirl Fridays or Saturdays at 6pm, join a random game, and play! You need 20 games in before Sept 1st. Live updates of rankings on this page!

PROCEDURE
- Meets Friday and/or Saturday before 6pm (preferably 5pm) at Hammergirl Anime. Bring a set + points if you can.
- Matches are determined randomly at 6pm and 8pm (Fri/Sat) - if you miss the deadline, you do not get to play until the next shuffle (later that day or the next league day). This is to keep people who continually show up late from being constantly paired against each other. if you are given a bye in a session and do not have 20 games played, you cannot get a bye in the very next session (you cannot be 'sat out' 8p Sat is you sat out 6p earlier that day. you cannot be sat out 6p Sat if you were available but sat out 8p Fri).
- Players should play at a speed that finishes their game within 2 hours. Should an 6pm game take over 2 hours, it will be postponed for up to one week - the same goes for an 8pm game, unless a store employee is available to keep it going post-10pm. Players should come up with a time to resume their game (preferably at 5pm on a later league day).
- If a hand ends with one player at or over 90k, and at least one player is negative, the game ends immediately.
- Be mindful of the amount of time you take while playing. Games should run at a 5-10 rate (max 5 seconds per play + 10 seconds extra per hand). This timing, with a 2 minute shuffle setup and draw, gives you enough time for 15 exhaustive draws. An East-South game, including repeat deals and exhaustive draws, should take no more than 90 minutes, and should ideally take 60. In extreme circumstances (after multiple 30-second waits), a person at a table may call for a timed discard, and, using their own stopwatch / timing device, force a discard in ten seconds. Forced discards are taken from the rightmost tile in a player's hand at time of timeout. Please note that this should be used only as a last-resort, but is needed, as many people have jobs, or otherwise limited time to play.
- Pairings should be done via the website if possible - it determines a random pairing setup that minimizes the number of times that people play each other repeatedly. Should the website be unavailable, feel free to randomize yourselves, bearing in mind that someone cannot be skipped twice in a row, and players that reach twenty matches must sit out (but feel free to play for fun) unless no other option presents itself.
- Players should attempt to get at least 2 games in per week, and a minimum of 1 per week overall (if you miss a week, try to get at least 2 games in the next week to make up).
- Players play at least 20 full games through August. After that, games do not count towards your personal ranking, and you must give up your seat before a game starts for any player who has not yet completed 20 games.
- Double Ron and furiten reach are allowed. In the case of Double Ron, Reach sticks are collected by the player that would have had the head bump.
- All Last ends when deal passes. Reach sticks left after a game ends are not given to anyone.
- Responsible One Pays (Bao): Third Dragon of Dai San Gen, Fourth Wind of Dai Suu Shi, Fourth Kan of Suu Kan Tsu, Rinshan.
- No Open Reach, Renhou, "Thirteen Broken", Wheels, Yakitori, Kuikae (having a 234, chi'ing a 1 with that 23, and discarding a 1 or 4 immediately after), red fives, busting out (play continues with you negative), reaching when under 1000 points, "chasing rabbits" (looking at unrevealed tiles from the wall after the hand).
- Abortive Draws: Four Wind Discard on first go-around, Four reaches, Four Kans by two or more players, exhausive draw, triple ron.
- Kans: A Closed Kan is robbable for Kokushi Muso (Thirteen orphans). Closed Kan Dora are revealed and live before rinshan draw. All other Kan Dora are revealed and live after all the next draw. Live Kan Dora generate Ura Dora. (Example: A Kan is added to, and the rinshan is drawn. Failing to Tsumo, the rinshan user discards. Should a player Ron or otherwise call at this time, the Kan Dora are still not alive - they are not alive until a player draws from the wall)
- Games start at 30k, end after South 4 (All Last).
- All players' scores are based on 30K being 0, additional Uma is as follows: if 1 player at 30K or more, +12K/-1K/-3K/-8K. 2 players, +8/+4/-4/-8, 3 players, +8/+3/+1/-12. For example, the final scores of the following game: 32700, 30400, 18900, 18000 are: +10.7 (32700+8000-30000), +4.4 (30400+4000-30000), -15.1 (18900-4000-30000), -20.9 (18000-8000-30000).
- No Cheating (including tile marking, wall stacking, and other such nonsense)
- Chombos: Revealing multiple wall tiles after the first draw, revealing tiles from another's hand, improper Ron. Chombo must be called by multiple players at the table. Penalty: 5000 points, lost directly to the table (not given to other players)
- A portion of the proceeds from snacks / drinks purchased during league by league players will go towards prizes.
- Top 4 at end of league (best and worst game dropped for each player) go on to finals: 5 han-chan battle, prizes TBD. Ties determined by best 3 game 'run', then best 4, and so on.
- East 1's dealer fills out a sheet for each game, with the names of the players (First Name + Last Initial), hand results w/ yaku. Sheets are turned in at the end of the match to a league operator, or failing that the cashier.

COURTESY
- No collusion of any kind. ("hey let's deal into my friend's awesome hand", "someone deal me a Green Dragon", "wow I am losing at least my friend will get a good score", etc)

- Short Bathroom breaks are allowed in-between hands if absolutely necessary. Attempt to schedule them together to avoid unneccessary delays of games.
- When shuffling, do not leave tiles in front of you for the duration of the shuffle. Take care to wash all tiles in front of you to the center.
- Do not damage or otherwise endanger other people's mahjong sets. Don't drop/slam/scrape tiles, or otherwise disrespect another's property.
- Make your best effort not to play with your own set. If you know any 'marks' on the set you are using, attempt to remove them. If you cannot (without damaging the tiles), ask to use a different set of tiles for your games.
- Tiles flipped up during shuffling are flipped down and then shuffling continues. "Stacking" a wall, following flipped tiles, etc. is cheating.
- If you are spectating, do not comment on another's hand during play. Do not comment on a hand after play without permission from player ("Why do you put all your honors on the left side?", "Wow, you were tenpai for Suu Ankou!" etc.)
